My Wedding HMUA

For soon to be brides I'm sure they are very familiar with this acronym "HMUA" or most commonly known as Hair and Make Up Artist. Last Sunday I attended another bridal fair with my fiance. It was The Philippine Wedding Summit, one of the longest and biggest running bridal fair in the Philippines that was held in PICC.
I've been eying "Make up by: Jeng & Carlan" and I often visit their website. I've seen so many beautiful brides. Their make up is really impressive especially the before and after. It's a good thing that my soon to be sis-in-law Mya will pay for my HMUA as her wedding gift.... Luv yha Mya!!! I'm really a very lucky bride!!!! I finally booked them and my make up artist will be Ms. Jeng Sy.
These HMUA's these days can really cost much money, to think that make-up can only last for a few hours or a day in my case since I availed their "Airbrush" service.
Airbrush is getting popular these days because it doesn't need retouching anymore since it's long lasting and the effect is really different because it has a flawless effect. Traditional make-up tends to grease and show caking after a few hours but not with the airbrush make up.
I wanted to just have a simple fresh look on my wedding day, a simple white eyeshadow will do. I also want to have my hair curled and relaxed half up do.

Here are some of my ideal wedding look (Hair and Make Up) and I hope that Ms.Jeng Sy can make me look like them:

My Wedding Ring Design

Wedding ring or wedding band symbolizes marriage,  a spouse wears it to indicate marital commitment to fidelity or simply a sign of respect and love for couples.

I can say that I'm a very lucky bride (as well as my groom).   We have a very loving and thoughtful relatives and friends who supports and help  us all the way.  My cousin from Italy (Ate Dulce)  called me the other day for my wedding ring update.  She's going to give us our wedding ring as her wedding present.   I almost forgot our wedding ring thanks to her.   I want our wedding ring to be simple and yet elegant.  A simple two-toned with one stone will do.  I also want my wedding ring to match with my engagement ring.

Here are my wedding design idea:

Search for Pre-nup Venue 1: Mall Car Park

I bought my Asus EeePc 1005ha pink notebook yesterday with my fiance, together with his niece "Gwen" , soon to be sis-in-law "Mya" and her boyfriend "Chris". It's Saturday and my fiance also have to go and check one of their projects site, Mya and Chris brought their SLR cameras to take some pictures . So since we have 2 photographers with us we took the opportunity to have a little "photo shoot session" in the car park.

They took a lot of pics, here's a sneak peek:

Our Wedding Photos and Video Supplier : Smart Shot Studio

We attended a bridal fair last Saturday. It was The Philippine Wedding Congress 2010 Asia held in Mega trade hall in Mega mall. The original plan was to book for our wedding coordinator or for a photo booth souvenir, but instead we booked for our wedding Photos and Video. Actually our first choice for our wedding P/V was Nice Print Photography , but after researching I found out the they received a lot of complaints and bad reviews from their clients, so that made me think twice. Even we're on a tight budget, we wouldn't risk our wedding pictures cause it's going to be our remembrance from the most special event of our life.

So I searched again for our wedding P/V. I've been eying Smart Shot Studio since then, but their kinda pricey and I had to discuss it first with my fiance. After telling him what I found out about our first choice for P/V, I convinced him to get Smart Shot Studio instead.

Our AE is Ms. Rea she's nice and gave us a lot of freebies, at first she doesn't want to give us the Same-Day-Edit , this is an edited video from the morning preparation of the bride and groom in the hotel up to the actual church wedding which can be really expensive, but the guests can watch it in the reception, but since we told her that if she'll give us the same-day-edit we're going to booked them right away. And also instead of having a Pre-nuptial pictures only we made her give us a Photo and Video pre-nup hihihi! (we're really good in haggling). Fimally after a very long discussion and forcing our AE to give us more freebies , we booked them and blocked the date.

I really hope that our wedding pictures will turn out OK and I'm hoping that we will never have a problem with Smart shot studio or else hihihi! Anyways I told them that I'm a blogger..

Our Reception Venue : The Oasis Pavillion

(It's me, this was taken when we made the down payment for the Pavillion)

I just wanna share my first wedding accomplishment. We already booked and made the 50% payment for our reception venue that will take place in Oasis Pavillion . It's my first choice for my reception, when we went there to ask for the availability of the date, I didn't expect that most of the dates for 2010 are already booked, I remember telling my fiance that if we're not going to have our reception in Oasis I will really feel bad. When we finally set our wedding date which is April 16, 2010 we immediately called Ana (our AE) to booked the said date, but she told me that someone already pencil booked that date and will just call us again to confirm the first couple if they're going to pursue the date, luckily they said no and we paid the down payment and blocked the date right away, I was relieved because I really like the place. Actually my soon to be "Father-in-law" (hehehe...) liked Gazebo Royale at first, because we attended one of our friend's wedding there and he was one of the "Ninongs" (Sponsor). The is place is nice but I find it not so spacious for 150-200 guests. When we visited the Oasis Pavillion I fell in love with the place right away, it's really spacious and it can accommodate up to 450 guests. They also have a raised stage for your band or performers, cooling mists and a stylish draping that can compliment our theme . They also have an ample parking for the guests. The couple can also use their bridal suite for 5 hours. Our AE is Ana Macahilig, she's really nice and easy to talk to.

Here are the pictures my soon to be sis-in-law took when we went there:

Wedding Souvenir : Photo Booth

I've been thinking about what kind of souvenir should I give my guest on my wedding. I remember then, whenever I attend a wedding I often take home souvenirs made of glass figurine, native stuff of pictures of me that I should pay after the reception. But these souvenirs don't last for long and often taken for granted.

These days there's a variety of souvenirs we can choose from for our guest to enjoy. Since I've been attending bridal fairs I've seen a lot of photo booths where in you can have your pictures developed in just a snap. pictures serves as your souvenir where in guest can take it home with paper frame and printed name or pictures of the couples. There's also some photo booths with props that your guest can use for more enjoyable picture taking. Everybody can enjoy these souvenirs and it's unlimited and free. But it's kinda pricey, depending on the number of hours you wish to rent it, luckily my ever gorgeous Tita Bheng will provide us this souvenir as her gift to us, Thanks Tita Bheng love yha!

Here are some of our free photo booths pictures form the bridal fairs that we attended:

We really enjoyed it and I'm sure our guest will definitely have fun with it on our wedding day.

Pamamanhikan : Climbing of Love

"Pamamanhikan" or Climbing of Love is a Philippine tradition. The word Pamamanhikan was derived from the word "panik " meaning to climb a house's flight of stairs. It's a formal seeking of blessing and approval before getting married. The guy's family goes to the house of the woman he loves to meet up with her family for a formal proposal of marriage. The guy with his family ask for the blessing of the woman's parents to marry their daughter. Normally the guy's family bring some food or gifts. This is also the time where both family discussed all the wedding details.

I've experienced this culture just recently. My boyfriend then (now my fiance) went on a "Pamamanhikan" in our house in Bulacan. It was exactly 2 weeks after he proposed. We don't have any idea how this tradition go, since I'm the first one to have this "Pamamanhikan" thing in our family and same with my fiance since he's the eldest guy. Anyways , there was some kind of awkardness at first but I think it's just normal but it didn't last for long, because my fiance's father is a natural comedian so things goes smoothly, afterwards we had dinner together and picture taking.

Here are some of our Pamamanhikan pics:
